TUNA SKILL OLYMPICS

THE OVER -ALL CHAMPIONS, GSC KORONADAL

The Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) Department of Goldenstate College had successfully conducted its annual Skills Olympics at the Robinson’s Place General Santos this City in February 18, 2011. This is in line with the school’s celebration of its 20 years in providing services among the different peoples.

This year’s event colored with the theme “20 years of Timeless Excellence” showcased nine (9) events to be contested namely Cake Decoration, Centerpiece Arrangement, Fruit and Vegetable Carving, Table Napkin Folding, Food Plating, Table Setting, Table Skirting, Bartending, and Chef’s Dance.

Interesting to note is this year’s participants who were composed of purely HRM students from Goldenstate Gensan and its sister school Goldenstate Koronadal. Said teams were mentored by their own respective Instructors from major courses. The teams were grouped according to their chosen team names as follows: Black Berry (Marc Patrick Valerio), Brownies (Philip Jude Dela Rosa), Green Salads (Chammy Fe Villamor), Purple Marmalade (Joseph Buenafe), Tequila Gold (Jun Cabrera), Blue Curacao (Rogelio Laguna), White Onions (Hanzel Dela Peña), Orange Juice (Virgil Casquejo), Pink Pomelo (Christian Turqueza), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (Fernandez, Abellanosa).

"ABOUT MYSELF"

Ako si Van Henric Alegado, 24 taong gulang na nakatira sa Purok 19 Bayanihan, Fatima, General Santos City.  Pinanganak ako noong ika-25 ng Oktubre taong 1987. Ako ay may taas na  5' 6” at may timbang na 52 kg. Kayumangg ang kulay ko at medyo payat ang pangangatawan. Tatlo kaming magkakapatid at ako ang pangalawa.

 Mahilig akong makipagkaibigan at tumulong sa kapwa. Mahilig akong maglaro ng basketball at dota kasama ang mga kaibigan ko.

Marunong akong tumugtog ng gitara.

Ang paborito kong ulam ay letchon, kalderetang kambing, at maanghang na pagkain. Mahilig din akong kumain ng ibat-ibang klase ng prutas.

Ako ay kasalukuyang nag-aaral sa Golden State College sa kursong Computer Hardware. Nakapagtapos na ako ng kursong Electronics Technology noong 2007 sa Gensan Institute of  Technology. Nag-aral ako ulit para mas marami pa akong matutunan at para madali rin ako makahanap ng trabaho pagdating ng  panahon. Marunong na ako gayong  magkumpuni ng mga sirang kompyuter.

Tuna Festivals 2011

General Santos City are well-known of its TUNA FESTIVAL. the main reason why it called tuna festival is because Gensanl is the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. Here, different kinds of tuna catch every day in which some of this tuna's are exported in other countries.

tuna fest happens every sept. 1-5 of the year. the fist part of the event is the parade. This parade are compose of different officials from different barangays of gensan, student and staffs of different schools and differentgovernment officials coming location here in region 12 just to join the tuna fest.

The Mr. and Miss GenSan 2011 Pageant are held at the KCC Convention Center past Saturday, September 3, 2011 as the Finals Night of the much-heralded Mr. and come Miss GenSan 2011 Pageant

all generals, have been priming  themselves up and preparing for what could be their life-defining moment, the night which is their final chance to prove themselves worthy to take over from  Mr. Jenel Labiana and Miss Ghen Mutia, the reigning Mr. and Miss GenSan 2010.

Being student i learn from watawat is its really hard to live in the age of Jose Rizal in our philippines National Hero Before, Because there is no good leader who can manage in our place, Because they kill those person who are honest and love our nation.
Besides from thet they dont have enough freedom to voice out, What they want to say of what happen in our nation, and our philippines national hero they love very much our place, and we will thankful for that they save us from different person want to get our place, and now if you compare our lifestyle before we are thankful we have a freedom doing the thing what we want and not being stare.

         Isa itong paglalakbay sa nakaraan. Ang Watawat ay pagsasapelikula ng isang bahagi sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas noong panahong nililikha ang sagisag ng kalayaan para sa deklarasyon ng Unang Republika ng bansa.

         Mabubuo ang simbolong ito sa pagsisikap ni Doña Marcela Agoncillo base sa kahilingan ni Heneral Emilio Aguinaldo na makalikha  ng watawat. Ginawa nila ito habang nakatira sila noon sa Hongkong dulot ng pananakop ng bansang Espanya.

         May limang araw ding hinahabi ni Ginang Marcela ang watawat, katuwang ng  kanyang anak na si Enchang at Delfina Natividad. Dito mabubuo ang isang obrang kumakatawan sa hugis, kulay, at wangis ng kagitingan at katotohanan sa likod ng mga pagpupunyaging makamtan ang minimithing kalayaan

Itramurals

Ang bawat paaralan ay nagsasagawa ng intramurals bawat taon hindi lamang para hubugin ang talino ng mga mag-aaral kundi upang hikayatin din sila na ipakita ang kanilang mga talento sa larangan ng palakasan, sining, at musika . Isa din sa layunin ng programang ito ay ang makapagbigay aliw sa bawat mag-aaral at pagkakaroon nila ng pagkakataon na makasalamuha nila ang kapwa mag-aaral sa ibat ibang kurso at baitang.

Isa sa mga nagdiwang ng intramurals ngayon ay ang Goldenstate College. Ito ay ginanap noong ika-26 hanggang 30 ng Setyembre.   Iba’t ibang programa ang inihahanda ng paaralan sa okasyong ito. Isa sa inaabangan ng mga guro at mag-aaral ay ang paligasahan ng ganda at talino, ang Mr. and Ms. Goldenstate College. Nagsagawa rin sila ng mga palaro tulad ng basketball, volleyball, kickball, pagtakbo at marami pang iba. Mayroon ding paligsahan sa newscasting, pagkanta at pagsasayaw. Ang mga patimpalak na ito ay nilalahukan ng mga mag-aaral sa ibat ibang kurso. Nagtapos ang pagdiriwang sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng gantimpala sa mga nanalo sa mga paligsahan.
